...I am not disputing the arguement of the fact that, development is a multidimensional process which needs proactive steps towards solidifying its parameters. however, our dear nation can only take reactive measures in pursuing her develoment process. Are we really serious? Do we really have working policies in the country especially that has to do with basic necessity of life? It may be that th...e authorities responsible for implementing the policies are implementing something else not what we normally read in the development plan of the country.
We are all aware of the vision 202020 of our dear nation. To me, it is just something I can describe as lofty imagination of heart. It looks like a mirage.
Considering our present educational policy and the reality we are all seeing in the country, can our national educational policy and our leaders provides answers to these questions:
1. To what extent are we prepared, as a society, leaders and as educators, for the massive changes in human capabilities that digital technologies are likely to enable in the next 13 years?
2. To what extent are our future visions for education based upon assumptions about humanity, society and technology that are no longer valid?
3. To what extent can we, as leaders and educators, help to shape the developments of technology in order to enhance human development?
Asnwers to these questions will explain what would be our true self in 2020. We should also note that these were some of the questions which were asked and answered by the triad zones (Europe, North America and Japan) of the world about the future of a knowledge-based economy. Can we also provide answers to these questions?
I will not give up buecause I know we have brains in the country that can deliver. aHowever, we also need hands.
Dear youths, what is your own opinion?
